Let me know in the comments if you know of any other good ones. I consider that a nice cherry on top. This reading plan walks you through key passages from every book of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, in just 61 days. Another one from Zondervan, this one goes a little more in-depth than the 60 day version.
Here is a diverse collection of different reading plans that take you through the Bible in a year. This plan gives you a good mix of reading an Old Testament book, a wisdom book and two New Testament books for each reading. It is also structured well enough that you could shorten your reading for each day by focusing only on Old Testament, New Testament or some other variation.
Readings from two places in Scripture every day: an Old or New Testament book and one of the Old Testament wisdom books. This is a pretty straightforward plan starting from the beginning of the Old and New Testaments and working its way to the end. The family readings are meant for going over with your family, in groups or at a Bible study whereas the secret readings are for your own personal devotional time. You could just as easily read the secret readings in a group and vice versa. The whole Bible will be read through in an orderly manner in the course of a year. This plan is based upon the historical research of scholars as it compiles readings according to the order that the events actually occurred.
This plan is founded upon the research completed in regard to the dates each canonical book was authored. The books in the Hebrew and Greek Bibles are not in the same order as in our modern Bibles, and this plan restores that original ordering of the scriptures. This plan takes a look at various topics eg. This is a place to begin reading the Bible. These two-week reading courses take you quickly into passages every Christian should know. Second, they are relatively easy to read and understand.
Take 30 days to go through the main themes in the Psalms and another 30 days to go through all the Proverbs. In case you find the Old Testament dry and boring, you can focus on the New Testament instead. Just be sure you go through the Old Testament sometime. Takes you through one chapter each day. Take the challenge and read your Bible cover to cover with a one year or two year Bible reading plan. I find 3 year plan most helpful. It is one verse a day for the most part. Just getting finished but hard to find another 3 year plan on line. Hello and thank you. Is there a template or spreadsheet, with regards to a bible reading plan, that will allow the end user to edit the chapters to be read in each book?
I wanted to read each book in a year but sometimes I wanted customize my reading selections. Thanks for compiling!

Readable, remembered biblical Women I often wondered why the women of the bible were so often unexplained. Were they considered subordinate in all ways? Were they all just worthy of only partial examination and then discarded? This book has given me a deeper understanding of how women played a much larger part in biblical history.
The presentation is absorbing and the information is needed. I look forward to my next book by the author. Feb 28, Renee Fisher rated it it was amazing Shelves: books-that-changed-my-life. This book healed my relationship with my mom. Slowly, and over time, we would pick one woman and study her together. It was learning about all the different kinds of women mentioned in the Bible that I realized there is no perfect woman and to stop being so hard on myself and my relationship with other women—including my mom.
Aug 25, Rosamaria Noel rated it it was amazing. By far one of the best books I've ever read. I loved not only reading about important women in the Bible but the questions and the self reflections with each women's story. God is amazing. Not only did I learn more about these women, about the stories and roles they play, but I also got a chance to get to know myself while forging a deeper relationship with God. A must read Insightful Insights Overall I really enjoyed this book! Brought out somethings in the different women's lives I hadn't thought of.
Women of the Bible: A One-Year Devotional Study of Women in Scripture
I have read other books by this author and have enjoyed each one. Sep 16, Courtney Burns rated it it was amazing. I love this study. It's a great way to start my day and makes the women of the Bible entirely relatable. Oct 16, Michelle Swanson rated it really liked it. Only complaint no weekend devotions , i liked the life and times parts very intresting.
Apr 20, Astynnia Gan rated it liked it. A complete Bible stories on the women in the Bible. I would prefer if thoughts by the writers are more biblical. Overall, an average book. I liked the book. You don't often think of the women in the Bible, as the men get a lot more notoriety. However, I liked the fact that the book focused on the women. And I learned a lot. Jul 03, Tiffany rated it it was ok Shelves: booksaboutbooks , religions. I think that if someone wanted a book for Bible study, especially women in the book, this would be a three- or four-star book. I gave it two because it didn't really suit my interests, but I could see its merits.
However, it did seem at times like some of the women were notable only for the men they knew. Some women had really fascinating stories, but a lot of them were not-so-great, at least not so significant of a woman, specifically. In other words, it was a matter of circumstance that it happened to be a woman who was there next to such-and-such man, or who was related to so-and-so man.
Not "Woo women! Maybe that's just because I'm not the book's target audience, but there were times when the authors' suggestions seemed like praying that your entire community would become Christian, and straight, and not-so-tolerant of different types of people. Or maybe that's just how I read it.
Jul 24, Jennifer rated it liked it. This is a really good book to read along with someone or a group. It goes chronologically through the bible and I suspect when I finish it, I will have a much better overall understanding of Scripture as a whole. Easy yet though provoking reading. So, I'm not part of that small group anymore, and have stopped This is a really good book to read along with someone or a group. So, I'm not part of that small group anymore, and have stopped reading this! I would recommend it if you are at all curious about any of the women in the Bible, or if you want to enrich your spiritual life.
I didn't finish the whole thing, but what I read was decent.
One Year Bible OnLine
This book is going to sit on my currently reading shelf for a LONG time. I am reading a chapter a week every six weeks with friends, taking a week off between for a breather and time for busy women to catch up. The book is formatted to encourage Bible study. A woman could just read the material, or she could use this book as a tool to dig deeper.
Mar 18, Lois rated it it was amazing. This is an excellent book to use in a small group bible study. My small group took a little over a year to finish it. It is a great book ,whether you are very familiar with the bible ,or just beginning to study God's word. Everyone in my group said, " I have really enjoyed learning more about the bible and these women of the bible through this study" I liked how the book was set up so you read a little each week day something about each women. You study one women each week for one year.
It was This is an excellent book to use in a small group bible study. It was fun and thought provoking trying to understand just how it must have been to live in those times. I'm so thankful God loves and cares for women like He does!!! Its a daily reading meant to be read during the course of the year. I have read Eve's character, pain, joy, history, her life during her time, her legacy in the scriptures, promises she received, her legacy in prayer. And it keeps doing that for the rest of the bible women.
I love this book because it helps you understand more of the bible as well as their life and whats better is it helps you understand the time they lived in and how everything varies depending on the era you lived. Time is a bi Its a daily reading meant to be read during the course of the year. Time is a big factor and the depth of the stories and person's life and meaning contributes in making this a deep memorable learning experience. Feb 27, Sandra rated it it was amazing. This is my favorite book on women in the Bible.
I not only loved the fact that some less-well-known characters were included, but also how the character was so fully developed by the author, making her into someone we can relate to today, without compromising Biblical accuracy. Although laid out in a day by day devotional, I couldn't help but read the entire write-up on every single woman This is a book I've read through more than once and plan to do so again.
There's ju This is my favorite book on women in the Bible. There's just so much to be gained in my walk with the Lord! Aug 08, Serri rated it it was amazing Shelves: christian-religious , great-gifts. It tells you each woman's story in pages with biblical references, highlighting her character, sorrow, joy, and key scriptures. I particularly liked it because the story about the Widow of Zarephath is included.
Zarephath is a direct Hebrew translation of my given name Sereptha. It's a great gift to both give and receive. View 1 comment. Women are so seldom mentioned in the Bible by name that I'm sure the author was hard put to come up with 52 women to write about. Some of these women were never mentioned by name because women were hardly thought of as human by the Biblical patriarchs. Worth reading despite all that.
Apr 20, Angela added it. The stories from the Old Testament were amazing but the New Testament didn't have as much scripture to work with so they took more liberties than I preferred. Still a good perspective on biblical problems with a 21st century insight. Not a bad read to encourage us to feel blessed with how much we truly have. Feb 29, Barbara is currently reading it.
