I cannot recommend Rick more highly! We first talked to Rick more than a year before we started searching in earnest and he was patient, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. Throughout the process, Rick was direct and honest about what to look for, while still allowing us plenty of space to guide what we were looking for and make our own decisions. We will absolutely return to Rick when we need to sell or are looking to buy! We feel like we really lucked out with Rick. He was perfect for us in that he was helpful, knowledgeable, never made us feel pressured or made recommendations that didn't feel right, and was fun to be around.
I'll definitely recommend Rick to any friends looking to buy a house and hope to see Rick around the neighborhood! I cannot begin to express how thankful I am for the help and guidance given to me by Rick. This whole process was incredibly new and unknown, but Rick was able to help me through it. I was very impressed with how quickly he communicated with me and how he would accommodate me to fit his schedule. I felt like I was his only client during the whole process, though I am guessing that wasn't the case.
He is personable, relatable and also has a vast network that really came in handy. My expectation was met and then some more. Again, I am extremely thankful for Rick's help. Rick has been our realtor for over five years now. He helped my husband, and I get into our first rental home together. From that point on, Rick always kept in touch even after moving to a new real estate agency.
Over these past five years, whenever we were thinking about buying he was there for us and easy to contact. We went through many starts and stops in our home buying process, but he was patient with us the whole way through. Finally this year we unexpectedly found a home we loved and Rick was responsive and ready to leap with us.

We closed last week and couldn't be more happy with the service and assistance we received from Rick throughout the process. Not only is he professional and highly experienced, but he is also a really great person who is easy to talk to. We could always trust Rick to give us his honest opinion and never push or pressure us into making a move. We have recommended Rick to friends and plan to use him as a seller's agent when the time comes for our most recent purchase.
Thank you, Rick! Working with Rick Rabon exceeded our expectations. We interviewed several real estate agents, but right away Rick was incredibly friendly and took time to sit down with my husband and I to determine what would be a good fit for us. Rick sold our investment property quickly for a fair price. We valued Rick's knowledge and expertise, we just bought a property that we will enjoy for many, many years.
Rick gave us excellent guidance, unflagging availability, and deep knowledge about a really wide range of homes that we looked at. Rick was very helpful in explaining the entire process for both selling and buying property. We highly recommend Rick! In fact, Rick is going to list another property, and we look forward to working with him again. It was evident that they were always looking out for our best interests and that they really took time to understand exactly what we were looking for.
In a crazy competitive market, Rick and Reisha delivered exactly what we were looking for and helped us to be competitive throughout the purchasing process. I highly recommend Rick and Reisha! My partner and I first met Rick Rabon and Reisha Lacey at an open house a few months before we were actively "in the market," and during the months that followed, Rick was very effective at keeping in touch, and introducing us to Realty Austin's online system.
After signing up with them, Rick and Reisha were responsive to all sorts of questions we had as first-time home buyers, and they were very quick to follow up on questions about properties we were interested in sometimes scheduling visits within hours. Throughout the home search and purchase process, they provided helpful observations, advice, and strategies for home buying in a competitive market.
Also, though they were eager to help us get the home we wanted, I didn't feel rushed through the process.

For these reasons, I happily recommend both Rick and Reisha to first-time home buyers in the Austin area! I would absolutely recommend Rick!
We met Rick Rabon and Reisha Lacey at an open house and were drawn to their willingness to work as a team. Each has their own strengths, and this makes interactions particularly dynamic. They let us know at every stage what we should expect, and there were several times when we saw a listing and one of them was able to meet that same day. Rick and Reisha were patient and never made us feel like they were pushing us into anything or wanted us to " hurry up already. Rick talked us through making a competitive offer that wouldn't end up over appraisal.
Once we were under contract, Rick and Reisha gave us plenty of referrals, and Reisha helped us prioritize and get the seller to take care of a few key projects before closing, They made us feel like people and not just a commission, even after closing! Rick Rabon went beyond the task of being the "listing agent", he was most helpful in the remodeling process to selling the house to someone that we could be proud and would be a great fit for the neighborhood. Thanks on behalf of the Freytag family! Loved working with Rick.
He was very honest in letting me know about the market and timing of the sale of my house. I took all the feedback and recommendations he made to prep for the sale and we had an offer in less than two weeks. Rick has helped us research the MLS and provided turnkey rental lease services for us. He's great to be around, works very hard and gets results quickly.
We recommend Rick for all kinds of real estate services, especially in the south Austin area. Rick is a patient and super helpful Realtor; he helped guide us through the process we were first-time homebuyers and did not get exhausted by our wanting to see scores of homes. He is honest and trustworthy and sincere, qualities we really appreciated during the stressful process of buying a house. Rick Rabon is very professional, knowledgeable, and fun to work with! If you are planning to buy or sell - give him a call!
Rick is amazing! I have known him for quite some time prior to him being a real estate agent. I recently have been in the market to purchase a new home, and he has been such a big help. He is always prompt in his responses, listens to detail on the things that we want, and never ceases to amaze me with the properties that he has shown. I would highly recommend anyone in the market for a new home to work with him!! Rick helped us sell our home and buy our new home. He was consistently kind, clear and knowledgeable. He was a joy to work with and he had wonderful advice.
We sold our house for more than we hoped and got our dream home in return. I couldn't recommend him more highly! We really enjoyed working with Rick. From the viewpoint of both buyer and seller, he has been on point. His team has been very communicative and helpful; I especially appreciated the help from the stager; she was great. Our house sold quickly, and at asking price, so we could not have asked for more.
We are still working with him as buyers, and although we are very picky, and have seen many houses, he is still very involved and enthusiastic about helping us. Will highly recommend him to our friends and colleagues. Both my wife and I were extremely satisfied with Rick. He made everything very easy for us and made the whole process of buying a house seem like a walk in the park. He was always available no matter the time of day and always made time for us. He was honest with us and helped us understand when something was or wasn't for our benefit.
I felt secure in putting all my trust in him. He is also a very kind and generous person, and we're are proud to call him a friend. We could not be any happier with the way things turned out. We will definitely refer him to anyone thinking about buying a house in the future. In a seller's market, it is important to find a Realtor who is reliable, experienced, and understanding. Rick Rabon embodied all of those qualities and much more! We found a home that we absolutely adored. Rick helped us put in the winning offer on a multiple-bid home. He knew the market inside and out; he made sure our offer was aggressive based on the comps and what the listing agent disclosed with him.
He had great contacts for lender and inspection. Rick made this process easy and painless. I would recommend Rick Rabon to all buyers! Rick Rabon will be the best realtor you ever work with. If you disagree with me, you are wrong. Hands down, super professional, friendly, and all around great person. They both exceeded my expectations!
They are fast and effective communicators with years of experience. They gave us very useful advice and steered us in the right direction. We sold our home for more than expected and faster than expected. We found our new home faster than expected and it's everything we could ever want.
Throughout the whole process, Reisha and Rick were kind, patient and strategic. They answered all of my emails, texts and calls within moments and they made the whole process so much more manageable. It's very stressful to sell your home and buy a new one and I couldn't have asked for a more supportive team. I would highly, highly recommend working with them! Rick Rabon was great. As a long time former employee and friend, it was great to work together again. As a first time rental home buyer, he held my hand the whole way, gave me contacts and educated me about the ins and outs of owning rental property.
Icing on the cake is the leasing agreement Realty Austin has to help find the tenant. Thank you Rick!!! Rick is a wonderful and caring person and I am very grateful for having found him to assist me with my realty decisions! Rick was incredible, so helpful, professional and responsive. It was an incredible feeling to have a place set up when we moved with a trustworthy company.
Definitely recommend! Rick exceeded our expectations! Rick was very very attentive to details and exceptional in getting answers for me that had to come from the buyers so yes, on a scale of , he's an absolute 10! I have already referred him to 3 people looking to sell East Austin property.
So thank y'all very very much! I will say that we could not have had a better experience with a Realtor. From the initial meeting to closing day, Rick had our best interests in mind. When we first sat down with Rick to explain what we were looking for, I don't think Kelly and I really knew what kind of house or where we wanted to live.
Rick took our temperature in what we really wanted and needed in a home and set up a very good search on the Realty Austin website. We had some obstacles in getting pre-approved, but Rick pointed us in the right direction. As we worked on pre-approval Rick took a step back but still checked in every now and then to see how it was coming along.
After about 3 to 4 months we were all set to start shopping for a new home. Rick made sure every house we looked at were homes that we favored and he included some that he felt fit what we were looking for. We didn't expect to buy a home as fast as we did. But with Rick's help we found a perfect place for us and we felt comfortable with the whole process to move forward.
As much help that Rick provided in the search of a new home, I felt Rick was most valuable in the steps leading to close. He was in constant communication with the builder and our lender. He made recommendations on inspectors and what we should be looking for, and he was there to help point out any issues that should be addressed by the builder before close.
At the end of the day it was the personal touch that Rick provided that made this process easy for us. This was a new experience for our family and there was some apprehension, but with Rick by our side it really helped put our mind at ease. I would recommend Rick to anyone we know that is in need of a Realtor, and actually have already passed his information along. Rick Rabon is my hero!! Rick helped my wife and I buy our first home with ease. He was beyond patient, knowledgable, kind, helpful, punctual, responsive, and awesome. He literally helped us every step of the way from showing us properties, recommending contractors and lenders, as well as always following up with everyone.
He is also a phenomenal negotiator and is just generally exceptional to work with. If my wife and I ever buy again we will most definitely call Rick - he is the perfect 10! It was a pleasure working with Rick to find our new home. He was informative, friendly and was constantly available for any questions I had about the process. I'm very happy with the property that I purchased with his help and I couldn't have done it without his expertise and patience.
Thanks again for all of your hard work at Realty Austin. If you were thinking about someone else slap yourself across the face and just pick Rick. You won't regret it. He is knowledgeable, gets everything done quickly, is always available to answer questions, works with great lenders, and is all around excellent. He also is super personable and really makes you feel like you are his only client. Thanks, Rick. Having a friend by your side helps, especially when it gets tough.
James and Kimberly Snead Say Nikolas Cruz Had a 'Right to Own' AR-15
I think we had that in Rick as we bought our first home. I am not sure we would have survived it without Rick on our side. I understand being a good Realtor is a tightrope walk. Often, you work with people who are total novices making their life's biggest investment. Rick perfected this tightrope walk.
Starting from our initial contact till the closing date he was very attentive to what we wanted from the house. He never tried to push us into making decisions we didn't want to. At the same time, he was very clear letting us know our pros and cons of all the options. Give Rick a chance Rick Rabon is the best--smart advice, savvy negotiation, assertive with the selling agent on my behalf, tenacious on addressing every detail throughout, trustworthy, quick response times AND fun to work with.
I consider myself very lucky to have found Rick. I've bought and sold lots of property over the years. Rick is the best agent I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Not only was Rick of great professional assistance in our home search, he was someone we grew to trust and respect as a friend as well. We kept in contact with Rick during the time we were in Texas and, as a result, when it came time for us to sell our home and return to Arizona, the first number we called was Rick's. There was no need to research other options as we already trusted him completely.
Rick was a consummate professional at all times, providing us with all the time we requested, answering our endless and probably naive questions with interest and accuracy. He never made us feel that his needs or agenda were a priority over our time and energy. In essence, we were always right even when we were wrong. He was just so patient with us that it helped relieve the stress of trying to pack up our belongings, live in a pristine house and leaving at the whim of potential buyers, and prepare for a cross-country move that we dreaded.
That was probably his most valuable skill for us - he made us comfortable with every decision we made. Rick Rabon has made a friend for life with the Mannings. We felt he went above and beyond, with the whole house purchasing process. We have and will continue to recommend Rick as the agent to have. It was a joy working with Rick Rabon. I selected Rick because he had earned my trust in his previous line of work.
I also liked the fact that he lives in my neighborhood. I never considered anyone else when I began my search for a modest house to rent to my daughter and son-in-law. He respected my modest budget and I felt that he was very supportive and transparent during the entire process. I complicated the process for him with my financing using a home equity loan to purchase the new house choice. Once I contacted him there was what seemed like a very long waiting period before my loan was finalized. He patiently checked with me and UFCU on a regular but not obnoxious basis. While we waited to be in a position to begin our search and make offers, I went to as many open houses as I could just to get a feel for what was out there in my price range.
As it turned out I discovered the "perfect" property just as the loan approval was being finalized. At that point Rick set everything in motion. I made an offer and the sellers countered with a slightly higher amount. I declined their counter offer and Rick respected my choice to hold firm to my upper limit. To my surprise, the sellers did accept my offer and the rest of the process went smoothly.
Rick did an excellent job of explaining every step of the process to me and calming my anxiety at taking this huge step. I feel very satisfied that Rick did all he could to represent my best interests. In addition he is just a nice pleasant person and he is very easy work with. I came across a couple of very weird realtors in my open house visits! It was a pleasure working with Rick and I would definitely recommend him to others. My husband and I just recently purchased our first house in August. We really didn't know where to start, but Rick was there.
He was always available either by phone or email to answer our numerous questions. He showed great patience throughout the whole buying process. I regularly work weekends and nights, and Rick was always available on weekend evenings to accommodate us. He has even been available after we moved in to assist with questions. We felt that Rick always had our best interest and never pushed us to simply make a sell. Rick Rabon is one "Amazing " Realtor. He goes beyond to make sure we understand. And explains everything. He is a Great Investment for your Company. Hold on to him.
Thank you kindly Rick. Your the best! Rick came strongly recommended by a friend and she was right. Rick you were a real help in our search for a new house in Austin. We know we're not the easiest clients: limited budget, not knowing Austin and the different neighborhoods, close to daycare and work downtown, big garden, far from the train noise, hesitating between an apartment in Soco or a house in a calm neighborhood.
Rick kept patient and informed us with several options. He also was always in time at our multiple appointments. When we could not make it in person he even filmed the property for us and sent us the links. What we really appreciated as well was that Rick really let us decide and gave his advice when we asked for it but without influencing us to push the deal through. Another great thing was that Rick was always available for us even late in the evening and in the weekends.
Rick is very personable and a good listener. We would definitely recommend Rick and his services to someone looking for a professional realtor in Austin. Thanks again, our house is awesome! I am so pleased with Rick. He was so knowledgable, gave me advice and suggestions when needed, and made closing a really smooth and great experience. And I said, 'Oh no He got back on the road and drove home to tell his wife, Linda, hoping the plane had landed somewhere else due to weather.
It was foggy in Martinsville that day, so maybe they diverted. But as time ticked by, he knew. If they were OK, they'd have called. It was bad. By that afternoon, the Hendrick home was full. Family members of the missing had assembled there. Then the phone rang again. John Hendrick was on the plane. He was Rick's brother and the president of Hendrick Motorsports.
John's twin daughters, Kimberly and Jennifer, were on the plane. Jeff Turner was on the plane. He was Hendrick Motorsports' general manager. Randy Dorton was on the plane. Joe Jackson was on the plane. He was an executive for Jeff Gordon 's sponsor, DuPont. Scott Lathram was on the plane. He was a pilot for driver Tony Stewart. Richard Tracy and Elizabeth Morrison were on the plane as its pilots. And Ricky was on the plane. He was the heir apparent, a young man with tremendous passion and a giving heart who had two years prior foregone his own driving aspirations to learn from his father how to lead the organization.
Most companies could not sustain a loss of that magnitude and survive. For a time Rick Hendrick wondered if his could. He wasn't sure how he could ever set foot on the Motorsports campus again. On Nov. He knew he must go to Motorsports and he must stand in front of his extended family of hundreds, and he must assure them and he must tell them that they would press on in the name and in the honor of those lost.
It was the hardest thing he's ever had to do. And when he decided to go, Linda wanted to join him. And his daughter, Lynn, wanted to join him. And his son-in-law, Marshall Carlson, wanted to join him. They wouldn't let him go it alone. To get there, you turn onto Stowe from Morehead Road and ease right around a degree corner and down a steep hill. He feared that drive down the hill terribly. Because he knew as soon as he took that degree right-hand turn and drove down that hill toward the Hendrick Motorsports museum, the entire company waited.
And he was just bawling," Hendrick said. But I had to thank them and tell them I was thinking about them. Because you're family, too. And we're going to do whatever we got to do to take care of each other. We're going to get through this. That is, in fact, not true. As Hendrick said those words, he peered across the table at his longtime publicist and chief sounding board, Jesse Essex, for confirmation of accuracy.
Because I wasn't sure -- I really wasn't -- that I could do it again. That meeting saved Hendrick Motorsports. It stood as proof that they would stand as a company and as a family and fulfill the dreams of the people who died on that airplane. I can't explain it," Hendrick said. They've got to know where you stand and how you feel. I think that was a real special time. It was damn emotional, but you get to where you can't cry but so much. You're numb. But every single person in there was upset. On that day, when he saw the passion in the eyes of his employees, Hendrick knew his race team not only wouldn't fail competitively, but it in fact would thrive.
And it has. I fed off of that. A decade later, Hendrick Motorsports is a stronger, more dominant organization now than it was then. That is because, Hendrick said, disciples of those lost are so staunch in the mission to keep their mentors' legacies strong that they will not settle for anything but excellence.

They work hard and weed out pieces that don't fit the mission's puzzle. Several lawsuits were filed against various parties, including Hendrick Motorsports, regarding the crash, and all have been long-since settled. We would not let their dreams die, but instead to go out and take it to the world. It's amazing when you look at the record since then. It's all about folks bonding together and needing each other and working together.
And if we didn't have the character and the chemistry we have here, it would have all fallen apart. And if we didn't have the character and the chemistry we have here it would have all fallen apart. That group was supposed to Ricky's by now. This was about the time father and son had planned for Rick to step aside in a lesser semi-retired role and hand the company to his son. As he thinks about that, he thinks about some of the funny stories he hears this time of year. He enjoys greatly corralling Ricky's buddies, and listening to them tell tales of his son's youth.
When Ricky died, he was just 24 years old. There are sad times when you don't want to talk about it, and then there's time you want to talk about it and talk through it and talk about all the good times and the fun things. I'd much rather have the pain. It was Rick Hendrick's proudest racing moment. Another was snapped in , at the Daytona Ricky was 6 years old, sitting atop his father's shoulders.
Just below it hangs another picture, this one hanging on the wall across the table from Hendrick, directly in his sight line. While walking through the building one day, Hendrick swore Ricky's eyes in that photo followed him. He froze. No matter where he walked, Ricky's eyes followed. Or is that torture? I thought, 'No, I'm going to put them all in here -- my mom, my dad, John, all of them. Because that's my family. That office was built for him.
